Teacher Biography

Laura Lee Zanger, Augusta Georgia

Laura began weaving in 1986. In October of 2000 her interests turned to Cherokee-style twills.  She incorporated vibrant colors and uses math skills to expand on  the variety of twill combinations that are characteristic in her work. 

Laura Lee's passion for twills takes her all over the United States where she teaches basket weaving at state, regional and guild events.  She has written ad published many instructional books and over 50 patterns for basket weavers.  She has also written and published the novel "Spirit Voice" the story of the life of an old Cherokee basket weaver. 

Laura lee enjoys expressing her creativity through the 1-3-5 twill and the double woven twill weaving techniques.  Her non-twill baskets are a rarity.
