Marla Helton: Gourd with Tapestry Weave

| Description: |
This exciting and creative class explores the technique of tapestry weave on a gourd. Beginning with a dyed, sealed and drilled gourd, students will learn to insert spokes and twine around the base before beginning their tapestry weave. A wide variety of fibers, textures and colors - including beads, feathers, pods, leather and suede - will be provided to encourage personal expression. Class will also offer basic information regarding cultivation of gourds, gourd preparation, dying and sealing and tips for final presentation. |
