Students will weave two ornaments in this fun class. The Akwesasne Star is made with red and natural black ash spokes and woven with fragrant sweetgrass. Your second black ash treasure in your choice of shapes, with a handle and a rim of sweetgrass or ash. |

Dianne Stanton: Round Nantucket

Description: |
In this intensive class students will learn the basics of weaving and constructing round Nantucket baskets. Prepared wood spokes are inserted into a cherry base, and sides are woven with cane over a mold. Your charm of a basket is complete with traditional nailed and lashed rims (already carved) and a cherry or oak swing handle that is held in place with bone knobs and washers. |

Description: |
Students will weave a rectangular splint-style basket that can be decorated with a band of dried weavers. This traditional basket is complete withpre-carved white oak side handles and sturdy rims. Students will learn shaping techniques and will receive a special food from each state in New England to keep or pass on as a gift. Fun for beginners and beyond. |
