Marlene Meyer: Blow Out
|
Description: |
Starting with a wooden oval base and handle unit, specifically designed for this basket, students will weave up the sides
using the handle and their hands and eyes to shape. Hoops will be supplied if they are needed. The design is the inner or outer birch bark with handmade Raku Pottery
beads to embellish after the basket is finished. The upper portion of the basket is pulled out away from the handle to make it very unique and shapely. Shaping is
very crucial in this basket and will be watched closely. |

Marlene Meyer: Large "Branches" Tote
|
Description: |
This basket has a large oak oval race track base. A wide birch spoke will be inserted on each side of the center
(very unique!). This will be used for the bead design after you are finished weaving. Shaping is really important in this basket and will be watched closely.
The rim is lashed and around the wide strip birch is a woven lashing. It's fun and easy! End with an oak carved handle, and then embellish the birch with
beads and leaves. |
