Recipe:   Napa Salad

Event:   Holiday 2001 Basket Exchange and Potluck

Ingredients:

  • 1 head Napa cabbage
  • 1 bunch green onions
  • 1/2 stick margarine
  • 2 pkg. Ramen noodles, broken into small pieces
  • 1 pkg. (5 oz.) slivered almonds
  • 1 oz. sesame seeds

Dressing:

  • 1/4 C vinegar
  • 3/4 C oil
  • 1/2 C sugar
  • 2 T soy sauce

Instructions:

  1. Slice Napa cabbage and green onions; put together in a bowl and cover.
  2. Melt the margarine in a skillet, add the Ramen noodles, slivered almonds, and sesame seeds; stir until toasted. Let cool.
  3. Combine dressing ingredients in a saucepan, bring to a boil, and boil one minute; allow to cool.
  4. DO NOT PUT THE SALAD TOGETHER UNTIL READY TO SERVE. At serving time, toss together and serve.
