Starved Rock Weaving Day
We are looking forward to weaving with all of you at Starved Rock this year. The Herb Basket from Baskets, Baskets, Baskets by Donna Rohkohl is a beautiful, functional, traditional basket that you will all enjoy weaving. This event is open to LLBWA members and non-members, so bring a friend and introduce them to our group. You are also welcome to bring another weaving project of your choice to work on. Remember to bring an item for our "Show and Share" table, so we can all see what you have been working on. Kits for the Herb Basket can be ordered with handle and reed or you may bring your own materials. Kits are $25. If you bring your own supplies, the list of materials is as follows: 3/8" flat oval, #2 round, 1/4" flat oval, 13 1/2" round notched handle, 1/2" flat oval for rim, Sea grass for filler Dimensions: Base - 20" long x 10 1/2" wide, Side - 5", End - 2" Cut 13 spokes 30" long and 23 spokes 26" long from the 3/8" flat Our day will begin at 8:30 a.m. with registration and a buffet style breakfast until 10 a.m., and then we will begin weaving. Lunch will be served by the huge stone fireplace in the Great Hall, and includes a croissant sandwich of your choice, deli salad, dessert and coffee or iced tea. There will be a short business meeting after lunch followed by a time to visit and finish your basket. Registration is $27 without the kit and is due by May 15th, 2004.
