Stronghold Center

Located 1-1/2 miles north of Oregon, Illinois, on Highway 2, Stronghold Center is a year-round conference, retreat, and camping center owned and operated by the Presbytery of Blackhawk. It features a castle originally built by Walter Strong, publisher and editor of the Chicago Daily News. He acquired an original 300 acres in 1928 and began planning the summer retreat for his family. The castle was inspired by European castles they had visited, and by San Simeon, the California estate of William Randolph Hearst. Stronghold Center

Lodging for our 2002 Camp Tuck weekend will be available both at Stronghold and at several local motels. There will also be meal options for attendees, both on the premises and away from Stronghold.
