Penland School of Crafts Penland School of Crafts is a national center for craft education located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. They offer classes in spring, summer and fall.

Crafts Reports - November 2001 Issue Profile In Success: Mary Jackson - Preserving American History Through Basketry. Mary Jackson has devoted her life to keeping her family history alive through basket making, and to bringing the low country tradition of sweetgrass basket making to a high art form — sought after by collectors, art museums, and even American embassies in foreign countries.
Abbe Museum The Abbe Museum in Bar Harbor, Maine, has the largest and best documented collection of Maine Native basketry. Two articles in particular deal with their collection:
December 4, 2000, article on a collection of "fancy baskets" created by Northeast Native Americans, now on permanent display.
January 14, 2000, article on a grant to preserve, document and store an important collection of Native American basketry.
